It’s the end of the world as we know it…

It’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine

REM – It’s The End Of The World

Actually if I’m completely honest I don’t know how I feel about it just yet, but I do know that the world as I’ve known it for the last five months is about to change in a fairly fundamental way – I’m now in Istanbul!

Here we all are in Istanbul

Here we all are in Istanbul

All up I’ve ridden 12,549km since leaving Beijing almost five months ago – there are four of us who have ridden EFI of the journey.

The EFI riders in Istanbul - Michael, myself, Erwin and Grant

I’ll post about yesterday and today in detail tomorrow but for now it’s time to celebrate a pretty significant achievement 🙂

Let the celebration begin!

What an amazing journey Steve. I’ve so enjoyed reading your ups & downs and the great photos, I’ll miss your ‘daily’ instalments. Welcome home and well done, a fantastic achievement

I’ve really enjoyed following your journey, thanks so much for the stories, great photos and inspiring blog you’ve kept up. I guess you’ve got to get to the end sometime but I’ll miss your emails in my inbox! Congratulations ???

Well done, Steve. I’ve read your posts since the first day. Amazed that it’s really been five months already.

Fantastic achievement, EFI means 501,960,000 FI’s or 4.4 million every riding day!
    More grease to your elbow.

    Congrats on the EFI award!!

I’m pretty sure that you’ve ridden quite a bit further in the past 5 months than I’ve driven!!

Sensational. Congratulations Steve. Enjoy the celebrations.
How will we cope without regular ‘view from my tent’ updates in the future????

Mate. That is an amazing achievement. I am really going to miss your updates so I can’t imagine how much you will miss the team, and the travel and the challenges. All the best for the transition!

Hooray! You made it. Incredible. Seems like it was such a short time … for us here sitting on the couch! I feel sad that it’s over, but then I haven’t been sleeping in a tent and eating cucumber for breakfast for months! Not to mention riding a bike for hours and hours day after day!
    See you soon. xx
